THE ASYLUM SEEKER HOUSING
Community InfoSource has developed the Asylum Seeker Housing Project to help asylum seekers in Scotland report housing repairs and issues. We also help follow up with them when repairs are not completed, or have not been done properly.

The Asylum Seeker Housing Project was set up to make a real difference to the housing situation of people supported by the Home Office accommodation and support contract in Scotland and to carry out housing research on these issues. Alongside the ASH Project, Women Asylum Seeker Housing Project was also developed.
Together they are called W-ASH.

Preventing Asylum Seeker Evictions
BBC Reporting Scotland, 30th July 2018

Asylum Seeker Housing Project developed Preventing Asylum Seeker Evictions (PASE), to support individuals who were at threat of eviction. This was in response to Serco changing the locks of Asylum Seekers in July of 2018, as a form of forced eviction. Over 300 Asylum Seekers were at immediate threat.

If you or someone you know is a threat of eviction, contact us.

We Need Your Help!

The Asylum Seekers (Accommodation Eviction Procedures) Bill 2017-19 is currently making its way through Parliament. The Bill is essentially designed to give asylum seekers the same rights as anyone else living in the UK, and is a huge step in the right direction.
We urge you to write to your MP in support of this bill! It's a UK wide policy and will protect some of the most vulnerable in our society.
Below is a template letter for those looking for a little guidance on what to say to your MP.
You can find out more about the bill here
