Who We Are & What We Do
Community InfoSource works with marginalised communities in Glasgow, primarily with asylum seekers and refugees, to put their ideas into action and to secure their rights.
Our organisation is human rights and equalities based and community led.
We currently have three main projects:
Challenging Violence Against Women, Women & Asylum Seeker Housing, and Wellbeing Projects.
All three projects work with asylum seeker and refugee individuals and community groups and the Challenging Violence Against Women project also works with other marginalised communities affected by female genital mutilation, honour based violence and other gender based violence.

Reduce Asylum Seeker Isolation - smart phone App
Covid-19 has disproportionately increased isolation for asylum seekers. The pressure of lockdown has compounded previous traumatic experiences and their mental health is being severely affected by isolation and despite restrictions easing, many newly arrived asylum seekers are very isolated. Phone data top-ups to access information on community support or keep up-to-date with Covid-19 rules are unaffordable.
With your help, we are raising money to develop a downloadable App that will greatly reduce isolation. Asylum seekers will be able to keep in touch with Covid-19 public health updates in languages they understand, accessing information to find local support groups, to be more informed about their rights and to increase confidence and ability to contribute and participate in their local community.
Fundraising continues through asking for your support as well as CIS making grant applications.

Refugee support organisation Community InfoSource (CIS) is delighted to announce the appointment of Stuart Radose as its new Chief Executive Officer.
Stuart joined CIS in June 2021 to run the organisation’s Wellbeing Project, which introduces refugees into their local environment. He says: ‘As CEO of Community InfoSource, I am thrilled to be working alongside our dedicated team of staff and volunteers during this challenging period for people seeking asylum, due to the deliberate and hostile policies enforced by the UK Government’
Originally from London, Stuart began by working in retailing. He then moved to Glasgow and the voluntary sector and has been active in supporting marginalised groups, active travel, befriending services and tackling food inequality. He studied Community Development at the University of Glasgow, gaining a First Class Honours degree.
CIS Chair Ako Zada said ‘Stuart’s track record in community development, coupled with his passion for social justice make him the ideal candidate to lead Community InfoSource into its next chapter during this turbulent time. Stuart with his strong leadership and with his colleagues have provided tremendous support over the past 6 months. They have helped to stabilise the organisation and enabled us to continue to support people in our community’.
Stuart has the support of the Board, members of staff and volunteers. We are delighted that he has moved into the Chief Executive role, with effect from 1st May 2024.
